Who we are:

We’re the engineering team (Pronto Team) who build eBay’s elastic search solution on top of eBay’s private cloud. It’s a cloud-native solution on K8s, and we’re running over N*10k compute nodes and hundreds of clusters and it keeps growing fast.

It’s challenging and interesting to build and maintain such a big platform, and we’re looking forward to talents who’re willing to innovatively improve the platform with cutting edge technology and help us to build an efficient platform and team.

Responsibilities:

Support and enhance open-source distributed computing platform technology built on elastic search.

Contribute to the open-source community on elastic search related projects.

Lead and participate to the design and implementation of analytics infrastructure to align with the vision of eBay Platform Infrastructure.

Provide technical consultancy to search requirement.

Focus on innovative ideas to drive the future of open source technology for patent filing and open source community contribution.

Design and implement technical solutions to support the ecosystem of Analytics Infrastructure.

Work with a team of engineering expertise to design and develop innovative technical solutions.

Qualifications: 

Proven successful track record of 5+ years of software engineering design and development experience with strong background of open-source technology. （不要怕年限要求，优秀的可以放宽的，大兄弟大妹子们不要被工作年限束缚住手脚）

Strong development skills in Java and Scala with strong sense of performance, scalability, concurrency and extensibility.

Have passion and strong engineering background on dealing with big data in the eCommerce industry.

Excellent background on computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.

Excellent problem solving and analytical skill on both defect and performance issue resolution.

Proven result oriented individual with delivery focus in a high velocity, high quality environment.

Experience in k8s/elasticsearch is a plus.

Strong communication skills in oral and written English.

Working experience in multi-national company is a plus.

Strong inter-personal networking skills with the ability to relate to executives and other team members through all organizational levels.

Part 2. Pronto Team体验简要介绍

由于是加入eBay以来的第一个方向又是平时接触最多的小伙伴们，算是比较了解一点，来分享下我的体验和简要介绍。

技术工作内容上哪些人适合加入:

有技术热情

Java 和 Scala有要求。尤其是Java。不过程序语言是互通的，以往没有Java丰富经验但有其他语言经验、且是想要往我们这个方向发展的也可以的

英文不是硬性要求，平时交流沟通说中国话。。。但是，处理上下游问题、邮件等，还是要用英文的。因此英文技能不用多高阶，基本的能看懂会写会说就行

不做小修小改或重复性劳动，有不少0-1的新项目新子方向，不会让你觉得无聊或者没有产出、不会成长缓慢

大数据、k8s/elasticsearch、machine learning等等都是加分项，但不做硬性要求

我们有oncall，但目前自动化处理问题已经相对成熟，且团队有其他考虑，以后engineer oncall时间会越来越少，大部分时间一直都是将来也会在开发迭代上，自己也有时间学东西的

做Pronto（ElasticSearch）也不一定会一直做Pronto，我们会把Pronto做到极致、添加各种定制化功能。之后开展新征程，不断扩大scope

团队氛围和生活: 

有80后也有90后，氛围平等自由，非常舒服

不卷，也不佛

不加班，弹性工作制（既可以外企作息，也可以互联网作息，上下班不打卡）

开会的话，会不多，但是也有，研发效率高

大家work hard，play harder。活动不少（各种类型都有，凭兴趣、不强制参加），好吃的多。
