Kids Vocabulary

English Singing是美国经典的英语启蒙资源之一，它针对英语为非母语的国家设计，制作用心，画风超萌，剧情非常吸引人。

It was lovely in the sea.

Winnie splashed through the water,

and skipped over the little waves.

Wilbur sat and watched her.

He couldnt swim. He didnt like water.

Winnie dived into the water. It was such fun.

But the water started creep up the sand,up to Winnies towel.

Then the sea picked Winnie up,turned her over three times,

and dumped her on the sand.

The water washed over Winnies towel,

and came half way up Winnies beach bag.

“Meeeoooww,” cried Wilbur.

He didnt want to get wet.

“Oh, dear,” said Winnie.

She shook some seaweed out of her hair.

“Dont worry, Wilbur. Well just move further up the beach.”

She picked up her beach bag and her towel.

温妮抓起沙滩包和浴巾，

“My broomstick!”cried Winnie.

“我的飞天扫帚！”温妮喊道，

“Wheres my broomstick?”

She looked everywhere.

No broomstick.

Then she looked out to sea.

There was her broomstick, floating away.

“Stop!” Winnie shouted.

But her broomstick didnt stop.

“How will we get home, Wilbur?”cried Winnie.

Then she had an idea.

突然，她想到了一个主意。

She grabbed her beach bag, took out her magic wand,waved it five times,

她抓起沙滩包，从里面拿出魔法棒，连挥五下，

and shouted,”Abracadabra!”

然后大喊一声：“阿布拉卡达布拉！”

The broomstick stopped.

Then it started to come back.

But a surfer was in the way.

“Whoosh!” went the broomstick, high up in the air,

 and it landed on a whale.

最后落在了一只鲸鱼身上。

The whale didnt want a broomstick on its back.

鲸鱼可不喜欢背着一把扫帚。

“Whoosh!” went the broomstick, high up in the air,in a great spout of water.

“嗖！”飞天扫帚又被一股水柱喷到了空中。

“Splash!” Winnies broomstick had come back.

“哗！”温妮的飞天扫帚终于回来了，

Winnie was pleased.

她高兴极了。

The other people on the beach were not pleased at all.

可沙滩上的其他人一点也不高兴。

They were very wet.

他们全都被淋湿了。

Wilbur was not pleased either.

威尔伯也很不高兴。

He was very wet, very sandy, and rather squashed.

“Oh, dear,”Winnie said. “Wed better go home, Wilbur.”

She packed everything up.

Then Winnie and Wilbur zoomed up into the sky.

They were soon home again.

Then she had a wonderful idea.

In the beginning, the blanket was big 

and soft and edged in satin. 

But with all the snuggling and cuddling, 

it now had holes in the middle 

and tatters along the edges. 

Every year, as Franklin got bigger, 

his blue blanket got smaller.

and I turned on your night light myself.”

“But I cant find my blanket,” said Franklin.

“回床上去，”他们一看到他就说，

“但是，但是……”富兰克林说。

“没有但是，”富兰克林的父亲说，

So Franklin and his parents hunted everywhere.

“Try to remember,” said Franklins mother. 

“When did you last have it?”

Franklin thought.

Franklin had snuggled with 

the blanket until he felt better,

In the afternoon, when

Franklin had covered himself 

with the blanket until all was calm.

He was sure that after the storm 

he had put the blanket back where it belonged.

the blanket wasnt there.

“Well find it tomorrow,” said Franklins mother.

“I cant sleep without my blanket,” said Franklin.

“I have an idea,” said Franklins father. 

He left the room and came back 

with an old, yellow blanket.

“Whats that?” asked Franklin.

“Maybe it will make you feel better.”

but it wasnt the same. 

He missed his own blanket terribly, 

and it took Franklin a long, long time to fall asleep.

 “我们明天就能找到它，”富兰克林的母亲说，

The next morning Franklin began a search for his blanket. 

He went to Bears house first. 

He looked so glum that Bear asked, 

“Whats wrong, Franklin?

Did your mother give you brussels sprouts again?” 

“Worse,” said Franklin. “I cant find my blanket.”

“Its not here,” said Bear. 

“Besides, my mother says big bears like me 

are too old for baby blankets. 

Maybe you dont need a blanket.”

“What about your bunny?” asked Franklin.

“Bunnies are different,” said Bear.

 第二天早晨，富兰克林开始寻找他的毯子。

他先去了熊的家。他看上去闷闷不乐的，

熊问：“你怎么了？富兰克林，你妈妈又给了你球芽甘蓝吗？”

“更糟的是，我找不到我的毯子。”富兰克林说，

“它不在这里，”熊说，”此外，我妈妈说像

我这样的大熊年纪太大了，不适合婴儿毛毯。

也许你不需要毯子。”

Next he tried Foxs house.

The blanket wasnt there either.

“Why dont we play?” asked Fox.

“My father says worn-out blankets are 

no good to anybody,” said Fox. 

“Maybe you should get a new blanket. I did.”

“I like my old blanket,” said Franklin.

 接着，他去了狐狸的家。毯子也不在那里。

“我们为什么不一起玩呢？”狐狸问。

“不，”富兰克林说，“我想找到我的毯子。”

“我父亲说，破旧的毯子对任何人都没有好处。

也许你该买条新毯子。”

“我喜欢我的旧毯子，”富兰克林说。

Then Franklin went to Beavers house, 

The blanket wasnt there. 

Franklin looked so sad that Beaver said, 

“You can borrow my Teddy until you find your blanket”

“Thank you, Beaver,” said Franklin, holding Teddy tightly.

he had his fathers yellow blanket and Beavers Teddy.

But it wasnt the same as sleeping with his own blue blanket.

 然后富兰克林去了海狸家，毯子也不在那里。

富兰克林看上去很伤心，海狸说，

“你可以借我的泰迪，直到你找到你的毯子。”

At breakfast, Franklins father 

sniffed and pinched his nose. 

“Do you smell something odd?” he asked.

“A sort of musty, old-sock smell?”

 Franklin and his mother sniffed, too.

“I think I know what smells,” he said.

Franklin reached under his chair 

and pulled out his blue blanket. Plop!

A handful of cold, slimy brussels

sprouts spilled out of the blanket and onto the floor.

His mother and father stared with amazement.

“I found my blanket. I forgot I put it here.”

saidFranklins mother.

“Whoops,” said Franklin, looking a little sheepish.

 富兰克林把手伸到椅子下，

掏出他的蓝色毯子。扑通！

一把又冷又粘的球芽甘蓝从毯子里撒了出来，

落到地板上。

他的父母惊奇地瞪着眼睛。

“看！”富兰克林说，

“我找到了我的毯子。我忘了我把它放在这里了。”

“你也忘了吃你的球芽甘蓝了，”富兰克林的母亲说，

“哎呀，”富兰克林说，看上去有点害羞。

“Old, cold brussels sprouts sure do stink,” 

said Franklins father.

“All brussels sprouts stink,” said Franklin.

“I used to hate cabbage,”she said. 

“Now thats a stinky vegetable.”

“Thats even stinkier than brussels sprouts 

and cabbage mixed together.”

He liked broccoli. “It stinks, 

but I wouldnt hide broccoli,” he said.

Franklin helped to tidy the mess.

 “老的，冷的球芽甘蓝肯定会发臭，”富兰克林的父亲说。

“所有的球芽甘蓝都很臭，”富兰克林说。

富兰克林的母亲笑了，“我以前讨厌卷心菜。”她说，

Then Franklin picked up his blanket.

his goodnight hug and a glass of water, 

Franklin put his fathers yellow blanket back

He was glad he lived in a house 

where even old blankets had their special place.
